A conscientiously concerned Nigerian has enjoined security operatives to deploy professionalism and de-escalate any contentious encounters with the citizens, prospecting to protest as the nation celebrates its October 1 Independence anniversary.
The charge was dropped by Dr Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe on Monday, via zoom at a youth event, held in Kaduna, Kaduna State, to mark the nation's 64years of independence, adding that the de-escalation, depletion of the protests is feasible, without coercion or arrest by security personnels.
The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Ife/Ijesa axis, in the East Senatorial District of Osun State, averred that protesters who feel engaged with, and not engaged against by the police, are more likely to comply, strengthening trust and cooperation in the background.
The event organizers had earlier stated, the event was put together to dissuade their peers from conjoining with the planned October protest.
The icon of the Ajagbusi Ekun Royalty of Iloko-Ijesa in Oriade local government council area of the state, explained that "the police tactical inducements to the protesters, to reflect on what they are doing, and motivation for it, will have more positive command presence without the use of force, threats or duress as the security authoritarian gaits get diffused and the protesters' impulses, tempered. The protesters will show up cooperation and compliance, respect the police neutrality, and the police will become satisfied on their general performance, with integrity."
Meanwhile, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) CITA ENERGIES Limited had remarked that the complementarity of the economic policies of the central government, its open system of administration and effective collaboration with states on developmental issues, potents, in a little more time, to take the youths away, in succession from roaming the streets.
Hear him:"the government's data bank on the unemployed youths, with infrastructure development being given utmost priority, is the incentive basis for the various employment interventions currently, on ground."
Prince Ogungbangbe declared to the listening youths that Nigerians cherished exemplary leadership and regime of rectitude in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with his commitment to responsible and responsive governance who has always spared himself of kindergarten dialectics, not one gullible to be exploited or confused by mischief makers and cacophony of voices, trading in biases and prejudices.
