We All Extend Our Condolences To The Akinfenwa
By ISAAC OLUSESI
Going by the barrage of phone calls these moments to Dr Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe, a politician and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ife/Ijesa axis of Osun State, the news of the death of Joshua Taiwo Akinfenwa, described as a first class champion and promoter of the Ogungbangbe political corporation, was appalling, horrific.
Akinfenwa, from Erin Ijesa in Oriade local government council area of the state, was reportedly calm, fair, straight forward, and practically disciplined, not one, a loose cannon, but firm who raised the ante in every discourse on the progress and prospects of the corporation.
The death is provocative and most painfully boggling the mind of us all at the corporation.
What we are confronted with this morning is the disturbing spectacle of Akinfenwa's departure, touching, really deep stirring, to the non salubrious incubator called death, the lifeless rigadon in the precipice.
True. For us at the corporation, the news of his death has taken the shine off the weekend, but let's see the death as a fuselage that cannot be edited out of our collective consciousness for a long time to come.
We extend our condolences to his family, relations, associates, and others nearest, dearest; and we pray his soul rests in peace.
