Ogungbangbe celebrates Exemplary Leadership Award, described as illustrious laurel to illustrious Oyetola

Dr Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe has stated that the financial discipline in the management of the resources of Osun State, practically, aligned expenditures with development priorities, withstood revenue shortfalls, other economic shocks, and substantially sustained the economy of the state, with the risks of misallocation of resources, duplication of development efforts, project failures or waste, largely avoided, in the era of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola as former governor of the state, and now Minister of Marine & Blue Economy.
The chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from the Osun East Senatorial District of the state, said this, Friday evening, in Lagos, after the event of the prestigious 'Exemplary Leadership in Public Service' award to Oyetola, held in the day.
He recalled that the Osun erstwhile governor outlined his development objectives, established comprehensive financial plans, and maintained balanced budgets each year, that matched revenues and expenditures, adding, the awardee clinically, fostered a culture of fiscal discipline and stewardship that avoided deficits or debts, all the four years in office.
"The Honourable Minister, as former Osun governor was well known to maintain emergency funds that took care of unforseen expenses and managed effectively, debts inherited; and habitually, he reviewed his financial performances, identified areas for improvement; and as needed, he made adjustments that freed up resources for other priorities, up ticked.
"His governance, informed by data driven decisions and evidence based, was innovative, and attracted investments, increased economic growth, boosted internally generated revenues, fostered citizens' engagements in the economy, and enhanced citizens- government relationships," said, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CITA ENERGIES
The Osun economic prosperity and significant positive transformation of the state were Oyetola's compelling vision and direction, value-driven for the future of the state.
And his deep commitment to transparency, accountability and inclusivity as well as resolve, delivered effective, efficient and responsive governance and made positive differences in the lives of the state and citizens. "His passion for serving public interests promoted the common goods, and he worked tirelessly for meaningful results that improved lives across the state," the scion of the Ajagbusi Ekun Dynasty of Iloko Ijesa in Oriade local government council area of the state, said.
The award event was the Nigerian NewsDirect 14th Anniversary Lecture & Good Governance Awards, themed 'Achieving Economic Prosperity: The Role of Human Capacity Development, Fiscal Prudence & Revenue Generation.
