Open Letter to Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, Osun APC Coordinator for Independent Campaign Committee (ICC)

As a stakeholder and card-carrying member of the ruling-All Progressives Congress, APC in Osun State, I am writing to first and foremost congratulate you on your new appointment, while warning you and others of the inherent dangers  of threading the same path that led us all into the current quagmire.

All the signs of the July 16 episode, though hidden to the politically-blind, are carefully finding their ways into our party through your Committee if not properly handled. 

In view of your tight schedule, I do not wish to over-burden you with unnecessary rhetoric that may eventually amount to time-wasting before hitting the nail on the head.

It's no longer a secret that some individuals within the APC hierarchy in the state ha

ve successfully cornered the soul of our party with a view to feathering their nests, while majority of the members continue to wallow in self-pity as they lack the wherewithal to express their minds or fight their just cause.

It may interest you to know that this same set self-serving individuals have also wriggled their ways into your Committee with the sole purpose of leading the party to no-where as the 2023 general elections draw closer.

Information in public domain has revealed how some members without the much-needed clout to win any election in their various constituencies make the membership of your committee at all levels.

Such development to me, as well as others who genuinely desire victory for our party, leave sour taste in our mouths. The criteria used for their appointments still remain cloudy even as I put pen to paper to write you.

However, the good news is that the situation is not yet beyond redemption, as there is still a window of opportunity to revisit and review the list, with a view to bringing on board, party members with pedigrees for performance and commitment to ensuring victory for the party in the fast-approaching general elections, most especially, the Presidential election. 

While wishing you success in your new assignment, the fact must not be lost on you that the task ahead is indeed a daunting one but with the right caliber of people to work with, success and victory for APC is guaranteed. 

Frankly speaking, you need to rise above being sentimental in picking your Committee members if the ultimate goal is to ensure victory for APC in the state in the 2023 elections.
