Osun Police Arrest Kidnapper Allied To Kidnap Kingpin, Emir

The Osun State Police Command has arrested one John Olowosaye, who had conspired with Olalekan Oyeyemi a.k.a Emir, in the abduction of some people in Ede sometime in August 2023.
The Osun police command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola revealed this while addressing journalists at a suspect parade at the Police Command headquarters in Osogbo on Friday.
THIRDEYE gathered that Olalekan Oyeyemi was a former appointee of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke who was declared wanted and arrested by the Nigeria Police in 2023 for murder and kidnapping.

Opalola revealed that the suspect was arrested by police operatives in the state.

She revealed that after abducting his victims, the perpetrators brought them to Balogun Area in Osogbo, where a ransom of N2.6million was paid to the account of Oyeyemi.

She added that Olowosaye was arrested after a police investigation uncovered him as one of the perpetrators.

"Based on a report of abduction sometimes in August 2023, that two people were abducted in Ede town, the Police Anti-cultism Unit have been working round the clock to ensure the suspect(s) involved are arrested. 

"The Police not resting on their oars on 3/7/2024 arrested the above suspects in connection with the crime. Investigation revealed that the suspect conspired with one Olalekan Dauda Oyeyemi a.k.a Emir and abducted the victims at Ede and brought them to somewhere at Balogun area in Osogbo, where a ransom of N2.6million was paid to account of Olalekan Dauda Oyeyemi A.k.a Emir. 

"The suspect will be charged to court after the completion of the investigation."

Also paraded, were several suspects arrested for various offences in the state.

The suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from armed robbery, theft, membership of secret cults, conspiracy, abduction, unlawful possession of firearms and harmful substances.

The suspects Opalola in a statement made available to THIRDEYE revealed that the suspects were; "Abubakar Ayomide, 23 year old, Adewumi Isaac, Ekene Sinday and Adesunmibola Afeez, 32 year, Sodiq Adeyemi, 35 years, Gbenga Oluwaseun, 27 years, Philip Oluwaseun, 24 years and Saka Kabiru, 27 years arrested for conspiracy and armed robbery.

"Lateef Musa Olalekan, arrested for conspiracy, armed robbery and unlawful possession of firearms.

"Ogungbemi Afeez, 19 years, John Fatai, 28 years, Ede Marvellous, 30 years and Elise Peter, 25 years, arrested for armed robbery and membership of unlawful society.

"Felix Etim, 28 years, arrested for unlawful possession of firearms, cannabis and suspected membership of unlawful society.

"Olalekan Amos, 54 years ago was arrested for theft and Akinyeme Simileoluwa, 22 years and Ajao Blessing, 25 years, arrested for robbery ans suspected membership of unlawful society."

Opalola also disclosed that exhibits recovered during arrest included; "two cut to size single barrel guns, Lexus RX 350 jeep, two cut to size single barrel guns, one live cartridge, two Bajaj motorcycles, one cut to size gun, two live cartridges, Toyota Corolla car, four iPhones, one Samsung, two HP laptops, charms and 10 phones and one Bajaj motorcycles."

Others, she said included, three live cartridges, cloth with insignia of Aiye confraternity, one cut to size single barrel gun and weeds suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.
