G.O.A.G.S 76/81 Set Interim Chairman Congratulates Members on Reunion, Calls for Future Plans for Alma mater

Members of old students of Gbongan Odeomu Anglican Grammar School, Gbongan, G.O.A.G.S (76/81) set have been charged to see the recent reunion as the beginning of better days in terms of relationship among members and their Alma mater.

This was part of a post-event exclusive interview granted by the Chairman of the event Planning Committee, Mr Segun Kolade to the Thirdeye correspondent in Lagos. 

According to him, the main goal of the set is to find ways of assisting their Alma mater to sustain it with a view to sustaining her academic and traditional heritage by giving human, moral and financial support whenever called upon.

"Firstly, we need to realize that our 1976/81 set goal as a subset of the National Alumni Association of Gbongan/Odeomu Anglican Grammar should be to assist our school to sustain her academic and traditional heritage by giving moral, human and financial encouragement to both staff and students through the provision of needed items and infrastructures that can boost the educational output and sustain the high academic tempo of our school, Kolade stated.

He also admonished his colleagues to also let their collective goals serve as an avenue to provide comradeship and cross-fertilisation of views capable of leading to personal advancement of members.

"Secondly, we should let our goal also serves as an avenue to provide comradeship and cross fertilization of views which may lead to personal growth of individuals, growth of our set as a body and even the country," he stressed further.

While welcoming members to the event, the set's Senior Prefect, Mr Banjo Adegoke called on his colleagues to allow the experience to help in no small measure in rekindling fresh fire and foster unity among the former class mates.

"I want to charge you that as we get impacted here today,
our experience will help in no small measure in rekindling fresh fire and foster spirit 
of unity which is predicated on our readiness to relate together as brothers and sisters," Adegoke emphasised.

The National President of GOAGS Old Students Association, Mr. Jide Iyanda, in his address on the occasion further appreciated the set for setting a good standard by organising the event.

He corroborated all the speakers on the need to rise and be of assistance to their Alma mater to help in alleviating some of the current challenges confronting her.

Other speakers at the event poured encomiums on the members of the Organising Committee for a job well-done.

The event afforded the old classmates the joy of reminiscensing and sharing old experiences.
